2008/2009 Art Workshops
The following art workshops can be scheduled to fit your needs. Just find 3 friends (or more- up to 10 total) to take the workshop with you, then email Randi with your requested dates and she'll work to fit it into your schedule.
-
Beginning Watercolor - Instructor, Randi Parkhurst
Are you
intimidated by watercolor? Get yourself started on the road to painting
by learning simple techniques that deliver big results. Fun and quick
exercises will loosen you up and gentle guidance will help you gain the
confidence you need.
-
Beginning Collage - Instructor, Randi Parkhurst
If you
have a passion for paper, color and texture and want to learn how to
put it all together, this is the workshop for you. We will use familiar
and unexpected papers and learn about adhesives and how to frame your
collages. Randi will share her secrets for storing your papers in an
easy-to-carry filing system.
-
Paper Embellishment - Instructor, Randi Parkhurst
Paper
collectors, collage artists, scrap bookers and crafters, this is the
workshop for you! Hand decorated papers cost a small fortune in the
stores, but you can learn to make custom embellished papers using
paint, ink and pigments. We will also sandwich objects between sheets
of paper for a stained glass effect.
-
Simple Bookbinding - Instructor, Randi Parkhurst
Students
will go home with a beautiful journal or blank book. We will learn a
traditional Japanese binding technique. The books will be covered with
gorgeous papers and decorated with ribbon, buttons and more. These
books make great gifts. This is an easy and fun class, requiring no
experience in bookbinding and few tools.
