Workshop is limited to 4 students. Early registration is recommended.
Come and experience the magic of eco printing! Using local plants, heat and a little time, you can make beautiful botanical prints, suitable for framing or other creative projects.
In this workshop we will participate in alchemy – the chemical reaction of plant tannins and metals – that produces natural colors and vivid, photographic-like imagery onto paper. The process is simple: layer leaves and paper, clamp it tight, steam it, and you get a delightful surprise every time.
Randi will bring examples of her work using eco prints and examples of how we can embellish our prints with other media.
If you’re a beginner or an experienced printer who would like to up your game, this is the workshop for you.
Randi Parkhurst is a seasoned printer with 7 years of experience. Learning from others and through trial and error, she produces clear, richly colorful prints.
Please wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. Some of the plants we use will stain. An apron is helpful. We will be working outside so you may wish to bring a hat, sunscreen or sunglasses.
Please bring a bag lunch and beverage.
Cancelation Policy:
My workshops are small and I count on students’ commitment to make each class a go. A 50% non-refundable deposit is included in your registration fee. If students cancel 3 days or more prior to the workshop, a 50% refund will be issued. No refunds will be given for cancelations made within 3 days (72 hours) of the workshop. I do not issue credit for future workshops.
Please understand that even if my workshop has a waiting list, it is difficult to fill workshop spaces at the last minute.
If my workshop does not meet minimum enrollment, you will be notified as soon as possible and your fee will be refunded.
In cases of severe inclement weather workshops will be canceled and a new date will be scheduled.
